What this site collects, and what happens to it.

This policy covers gcf.law, operated by Grant Caswell Fisher Law, PLLC ("the firm," "I"). The short version: the site collects only what you choose to send, uses it only to respond to you and evaluate your inquiry, and does not sell it or share it for marketing.

Information you provide

The contact form and the case screener collect what you type into them: your name, phone number, email address, and whatever you choose to say about your situation. The screener keeps your answers in your own browser and transmits nothing until you press send. If you email, call, fax, or text the firm, the contents of that communication and its routing information (your address or number, date and time) are received the way any correspondence is.

Information collected automatically

This site does not currently use analytics, advertising cookies, or tracking pixels. The hosting service that serves these pages keeps ordinary server logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type) for security and operations, as essentially all web hosts do. If the site adds analytics in the future, this policy will be updated first.

How information is used

To respond to you, to check for conflicts of interest before an inquiry goes further, to evaluate whether the firm can take a matter, and, for clients, to perform the representation. Inquiry information may also be retained to document that an inquiry was received, screened, and responded to, which the rules governing lawyers sometimes require.

Who information is shared with

Service providers that make the firm run, and no one else: the company that hosts this website, the service that relays form submissions to the firm's email, the firm's email provider, the firm's practice management system, and the firm's telephone, fax, and text-messaging provider. Each processes information only to provide its service. The firm does not sell personal information, does not share it with third parties for their marketing, and discloses it beyond the providers above only if the law requires it or you direct it.

Text messaging consent is never shared. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with, or sold to, any third party.

Text messages

If you check the consent box on a form, text the firm first, or agree in writing, the firm may text you at the number you provide. Message frequency varies, message and data rates may apply, reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. The full terms are in the SMS & Communications Policy.

Security, and an honest caveat

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and firm systems are protected in the ordinary ways. But email and standard text messages are not encrypted end to end, and no transmission method is perfectly secure. Until the firm represents you under a signed agreement, please do not send detailed medical records, financial account information, or anything you would not want a third party to see. A name, a number, and a short description of what happened is enough to start.

Retention

Inquiry records are kept as long as reasonably needed to document the inquiry and its handling, including for conflict-checking in the future. Client files are retained per the engagement agreement and the rules governing Texas lawyers.

Children

This website is directed to adults and is not intended for use by children. The firm does not knowingly collect information from children through this site. Claims involving injured children should be brought to the firm by a parent or guardian.

Your choices and contact

You can ask what information the firm holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, subject to records the firm is required or permitted to keep.
